Genocide Awareness Night and Fundraising Event

Saturday, May 3, 2008:
Genocide Awareness Night and Fundraising Event, Beaverton SDA Church, 14645 SW Davis Rd., Beaverton, OR 97007, Free Admission- Collection Plate passed at close of concert. The purpose of this night is to raise funds for the refugees of Darfur, Sudan who have fled to their homes due to the genocide in Darfur. Over 400,000 men, women and children have lost their lives, and 2.5 million are living in refugee camps with very little to survive on, and little hope of returning to their homeland. We will also be raising funds for the rising crisis in Kenya. Almost 1,000 people have been killed and at least over 300,000 have had to flee their homes with very little to survive on as well. Events for the evening will include information on each crisis, a time of remembrance, presentations from 3 organizations providing aid and awareness, and musical performances. Refreshments will be served following the program. Please join us for a wonderful evening!
