Jay Lou Ava, a guitar genius, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer is one of the finest African musicians of today. With his sounds of Progressive Afro Jazz (PAJ), he has contributed to the wealth of contemporary world music as it exists today in Europe and Africa. Fred Edmonds of All About Jazz describes Jay Lou’s music as «mature, smooth, harmonious, and delicately mixed. A clever blend of the musical techniques of jazz and the complex syncopated African rhythms, reconciling styles and people, and bringing them hope and peace». He is often defined by European media as the «Wes Montgomery of Africa».
